    Hi Jimmy,
Thank you for the compliments on my Olds. As you can tell from the photos, it has never been restored, although I'm sure it would look even better if it were. I owned a 1950 Olds Eighty-Eight Deluxe 4 door sedan in 1954 shortly after meeting my wife. I drove that Olds like there was no tomorrow between Washington, DC and Camp Lejeune North Carolina, and it was one of my favorite automobiles (and I've owned many). So around 1982 my wife and I began to look for one to satisfy my appetite for a nice old antique car. Just by chance, one of my wife's co-workers mentioned that her foster mother had a couple of old Oldsmobiles that her husband had owned when he passed away some 14 years prior, and wanted to know if we would be interested in looking at them. That evening, my wife asked me if I would be interested in a '49 Olds Nineth-Eight, and remembering that every '49 Olds Ninety-Eight I had seen had been one of those huge 4 door models, I told her I didn't think I would be interested. She then told me that her co-worker had promised to bring a photo of the two cars to work the next day. The next day, when my wife came home from work, she presented me with a very bad Polaroid photo of the two cars. All that was visible of the cars was the very back ends, and when i saw that the '49 was a fast back style, I told my wife maybe we should go take a look at them. As it worked out, I took my dad along, and both cars seemed to be in extraordinarily good condition, so I decided to buy the '49, and my dad bought the other car, which was a really nice 1965 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Brougham 4 door hardtop. I really like the styling of the one I own, and would like to correspond with other owners of cars like it, but they seem to be very few in number. I have only spoken to one other owner of one like it.
